There are many buses
from Cairns City Centre
and Cairns airport to
Port Douglas, a distance
of 70 km. Many resorts,
backpackers and hotels
will pick you up for
free. The route along the
Captain Cook Highway
is scenic with the sea
immediately on one side
and often high hills
on the other. There are
look out spots and a
number of attractions
on the way that mean
the drive can be taken
at leisure.
